Who am I?

I wanted to focus a blog post on myself and my life today. As I believe it is important to know the person behind the cakes.

Firstly, my name is Isabelle Mary Roberts, but I mostly get called Bella, and I am currently 21 years old, which may come as a shock to some of you! I've grown up in Wilmslow all of my life with my parents and my older brother Sam. I can't really see myself leaving this area when I get my own home!

I also have a dog - Billy and a cat - Teddy who I absolutely love to pieces!

I attended Wilmslow High School all the way through to Year 13 (sixth form). Unfortunately, I didn't particularly like school as I just wanted to focus on cakes, but I was too young to start a business on my own.

I have had several health complications over the past couple of years which left me feeling extremely anxious, which is something that still follows me around, but I am learning to deal with it.

Therefore, I feel so unbelievably lucky that I have this opportunity to work from the comfort of my own home with my family around me. My parents have helped me in so many ways and encouraged me to take the plunge into self-employment, which I am so grateful for.

In terms of my business, I decided towards the start of 2017 that I wanted to just go for it, but I had to wait until I finished sixth form. So when I left in May, I started! Many of my friends have asked for cakes, which is so important to me as it enables me to create cakes for the people around me before I venture out into creating cakes for people who I don't know!

However, my dad is constantly saying I never bake cakes for him anymore!

I have also achieved my level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate, and I am currently completing an online course which will award me with a diploma in cake decorating!

So there you go, that's a little bit more about me, the person making the cakes.
